It seems the Trump family is quite on edge after Tiger Woods‘ DUI. In fact, insiders claim US President Donald Trump wants none of his grandkids to ever drive with his longtime pal Woods.

For reference, Trump has 11 grandchildren. His eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump have five children together named Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have three children: Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore; and Eric Trump and Lara Trump have two kids named Carolina and Eric Jr. His daughter Tiffany Trump also welcomed a baby with her husband Michael Bolous in May 2025 named Alexander.
Now, earlier this week, Woods was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in a rollover crash in Florida. Because of this, Donald has set a firm rule for the family. Insiders told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack that things have gotten tense.
“It’s a hard no. He doesn’t want Tiger behind the wheel with his grandkids. Not happening,” one source said to the outlet. “Trump hates anything to do with drugs or alcohol. That’s a line for him, especially when it comes to his family… In Trump’s mind, there’s just too much risk.”
And the fact that Donald and Woods are pals (and that he’s dating his pal’s ex daughter-in-law Vanessa) “makes things awkward. He’s around — but there are very clear boundaries.”
No one in the family has commented on this, but this, coupled with Vanessa’s alleged ultimatum going viral, has many convinced the family is on edge.

For those who don’t know, Vanessa and Woods met in the 2020s, but it’s unclear if they met during one of Woods and Donald’s golfing hangouts or through their kids. (Turns out, their kids go to the local Benjamin School, where Vanessa’s daughter Kai is a skilled golfer.) They officially got together in 2024, and made their romance public in 2025.
As for his and Donald’s bond, the two have reportedly been buddies for decades as well (and yes, they play golf together a lot). And in 2019, Trump even gave him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, per Nicki Swift.
