While there have been rumors that Keith Urban has moved on from his marriage to Nicole Kidman ahead of her divorce filing, the 57-year-old country singer may not have been hiding it either.
The internet gossip is in overdrive, trying to figure out who Urban might be dating after TMZ reported that he is already in another relationship. “All the signs point to the fact that Keith is with another woman,” more than one source told the media outlet. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.”

Now, People is pointing out a curious lyric change that occurred during a recent performance of his song, “The Fighter.” The original song featured Carrie Underwood, but Urban’s new guitar player, Maggie Baugh, took over her vocals. It’s also important to note that this song was inspired by his relationship with Kidman.
The original lyric was, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter.” On that particular night, Urban sang to Baugh, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.” The guitarist shared the clip on her Instagram page, accompanied by two emojis on the video: “🫣 🤯.” She also wrote in the caption, “Did he just say that👀.”
The comments on the post show that fans believe she is the one involved with Urban, even though it has never been confirmed. “Nicole deserves better,” wrote one follower. Another critic added, “It is so trashy to do this to a song inspired by his wife. It’s the ultimate ick.” Baugh hasn’t issued a statement to deny the rumors so far, nor has she limited the comments on her social media page.
Still, reading Urban’s March 2017 words about “The Fighter” to Billboard is painful, given the current circumstances with Kidman.
“It’s all from a conversation my wife and I had early on in our relationship, that when things get tough, I need to hold her tighter and just try to take care of her,” he said. “The song is about wanting to heal somebody, wanting to take care of somebody, wanting to protect somebody. It’s really like a vow in so many ways.”
Fans may also remember the duo singing the song to each other in happier times. It’s a hard clip to watch now, but it’s clear that at one point in their marriage, there was a lot of love between them.
