Taylor Frankie Paul‘s ex-husband, Tate Paul, has been living a quiet life since their 2022 split. However, Hulu‘s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is dredging up a scandal that he would probably rather forget.
Season two of the hit Hulu reality series is revisiting Taylor’s 2022 “soft swinging” scandal now that Miranda McWhorter, one of the women involved in the swinging group, has joined the cast.
Taylor announced her split from then-husband Tate Paul in May 2022, revealing they separated after engaging in “soft swinging” with friends in their Utah Mormon circle. This erupted into a scandal that swept TikTok after Taylor claimed other popular Mormon influencers were involved in their swinging group.
Though season one of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives dealt with some of the fallout of the scandal and Taylor’s divorce, season two is going deeper into what exactly happened in the lead-up to Taylor and Tate’s split.

Who Is Taylor Frankie Paul’s Ex-Husband?
Taylor was married to her ex-husband, Tate Pau, from November 2017 until May 2022. The exes share a daughter named Indy, who was born in August 2017, and a son named Ocean, born in June 2020.

In May 2022, Taylor took to TikTok live to address allegations that she had cheated on her husband after revealing that they were separating. Taylor revealed that she and Tate had been engaging in “soft swinging” with a group of other couples in the Mormon influencer space.
Taylor claimed that she and her husband had agreed to experiment with other people provided that spouses were present and that no sexual intercourse was had. However, she took things a step further when she stepped outside of their agreement.
“I ended up catching feelings for one of the men in the group,” Taylor revealed on The Viall Files podcast on September 4, 2024, revealing that she had an emotional affair which progressed to having sex with the man without her husband being present. “I ended up coming clean,” she added, revealing this was the final straw in their already-fractured marriage.
“The divorce is not like, all because of this huge blow-up [in our friend group]. It was more ’cause I feel like we had a lot of other issues and then this was the tip of the iceberg,” Taylor said back in 2022.
Where Is Taylor Frankie Paul’s Ex-Husband, Tate, Now?
Since his split from Taylor, Tate has gone on to welcome another baby with his now-wife, Bailey. While he has remained largely under the radar, he did reveal back in August 2023 that he was due to become a dad for the third time.
“Our cute baby girl is coming in October,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of himself and Bailey. “We cannot wait to meet her! I love them so much!”
Tate shared a rare social media update on May 11, 2025, posting a tribute to Bailey for Mother’s Day. “Words cannot describe how incredible of a Mother and wife that you are! You never put yourself first. Our kids and I are beyond lucky to have you! I love you so much!” he wrote.
Will Tate Paul Be On The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2?
Tate did not appear in the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives with Taylor and doesn’t appear to have plans to star in the second season.
During her appearance on The Viall Files, Taylor said that Tate and Bailey were approached but ultimately decided to stay off the show and keep their children out of it, too.
Taylor did say that she and Tate are on good terms. “We’re great, we go to soccer games every week together, and we talk daily,” she said. “We don’t have to be friends [but] we are.”
For her part, Taylor welcomed a son named Ever with her then-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, in March 2024. She and Dakota started dating in August 2022 and split in late 2024.
