The Pioneer Woman’s Holiday Dessert Uses Store-Bought Ingredients

People either love eggnog or hate it — but everyone can agree that it’s a classic holiday drink. We can’t even imagine decking the halls (or dealing with family!) without a glass of this creamy comfort drink! Now, you can enjoy eggnog in a new way: through Ree Drummond’s (The Pioneer Woman’s) fluffy and festive holiday dessert recipe, which is made with store-bought ingredients. Her No-Bake Eggnog Pie is about to become your new favorite tradition.

“Who says eggnog is just for drinking? With Ree’s recipe, you can enjoy the creamy Christmas beverage by the forkful! 🍴 😋” a new post on The Pioneer Woman Magazine’s official Instagram was captioned. “The whipped filling and crunchy graham-cracker crust is a match made in heaven. 🥧 🫶 Plus, the store-bought eggnog and boxed pudding mix will save you time, and you won’t have to turn on an oven!”

The easy-to-whip-up recipe takes just 20 minutes of prep time, and then you can stash it in the fridge until it’s time to serve. Start by whisking store-bought eggnog, vanilla pudding mix, and another ingredient in a large bowl and setting aside. Then, combine cream cheese, bourbon, and other ingredients in another bowl that fits into your stand mixer. This will be your topping. Use the whisk attachment to combine this, then add heavy cream and continue beating until stiff peaks form.

To assemble the pie, scoop one cup of the whipped cream mixture at a time into the eggnog pudding, then folding gently until it’s well-combined. Repeat this once, then put the rest of the whipped cream mixture into an airtight container and put in the fridge. Pour the eggnog mixture into the graham cracker crust; cover and refrigerate for 12 hours (or overnight). Before serving, add the remaining whipped cream mixture to the top and sprinkle with a dash of nutmeg.

People praised this decadent holiday treat. One person commented, “As an eggnog lover I had to try this pie recipe & I’m blown away by how good it turned out – the flavors are incredible, it was so easy to make.”

“The taste was spot on as a light eggnog dessert,” another person wrote, adding that they used family homemade eggnog and cream cheese recipes to prepare it. “This is an anticipated culinary Christmas indulgence,” they added.

If you want to make your own eggnog, then you totally can. May we recommend Martha Stewart’s rich recipe with three different types of alcohol? Of course, store-bought is just as good for this recipe (and much easier to prepare). Plus, you can make it without alcohol if your kids are interested in eating it as well.
