Viola Davis & Daughter Genesis Had a Colorful, Twinning Hair Moment

Viola Davis and her daughter Genesis lit up the red carpet during a rare outing, and all eyes were on their colorful twinning moment!

In case you missed it, on May 10, 2025, in Los Angeles, Davis and Genesis arrived in style at the 14th Annual City Year Los Angeles Spring Break Gala. Held at the SoFi Stadium’s Gallagher Garden, this fundraising event was all about supporting organizations that help students.

And for the event, the pair dressed in style (and as we said, they even had a twinning moment)! See the photos below:

Now, as you can see, Davis rocked an emerald green short-suit look, paired with hoop earrings and a sheer black blouse. As for Genesis, she donned a blue button-down and distressed shorts.

You may be like, “How are they twinning?” It’s all in the hair, baby! Both of them have red hair, with Davis’ fully dyed and Gensis having streaks.

Either way, we love this daring, and ultra-colorful moment with the rarely-seen mother-daughter duo!

Davis and her husband Julius Tennon adopted Genesis back in 2011 when she was only an infant. Davis is also the stepmother to Tennon’s two other children.

In a previous interview with SheKnows, Davis had an amazing answer when asked about balancing work and motherhood. “Whatever time you spend where you can look at your child, and take them in, and listen to them so they can be seen is time that they will remember forever. I don’t think that it has to be even a long time,” she said. “I think it’s like — I think Maya Angelou said it, that when you walk through the door, that a child literally changes when they know. They light up when you look at them, and you see them, and you say you love them. That’s the most I can give to a working mom.”
